Writing

Ready, set, read

If you are having Writer's Block and can't think of what to write about, have a look below ideas. Also, if you want to know some tips on writing stories, look below.

Sizzling Starts

You want your story to have a good start, to make the reader

want to read more for example,

It was a normal day until I found a secret passage at the end

of the street. I knew I shouldn’t be there so I turned around but

I saw a giant dinosaur that didn’t look very friendly! So I ran

very fast and as far away as I could, but it was no use. The

dinosaur was right behind me. I kept running even though

I knew that it’s not possible to escape this ferocious beast.

Make it seem like there is no hope for the character.

Ban the Boring Bits

Everyone gets up, has breakfast, brushes their teeth, stuff like

that. But if you write it it your story it will get a bit boring. The

heros never travel, they just arrive...Unless the traveling is really

exciting!

Exciting Endings

You want to end the story happily and exciting. Here are some types of endings and examples:

  • Surprise the reader: That was the last time I ate strawberries!

  • Share a laugh: There was even mud up our dog's nose!

  • Ask a question: I wonder what would have happened if I stayed home from school that day?

  • Hint about the future: Next time I will bring an umbrella!
